Versatile uses of rapeseed oil

This cold-pressed rapeseed oil is perfect for both cold and hot cooking. It’s ideal for salads and cold dishes, but thanks to its high smoke point of 242°C, it’s also perfect for high-temperature cooking. Our delicately nutty rapeseed oil is excellent for dips, vinaigrettes, sauces, and marinades. It can even be used for steaming vegetables. As you can see, our golden rapeseed oil is in no way inferior to other virgin oils.

Rapeseed oil is not only versatile in the kitchen but also has a neutral flavor. This means it won’t overpower or alter the taste or aroma of other foods.

How do we produce premium rapeseed oil?

Lubifood produces premium rapeseed oil from its own raw materials grown in the Rajecká Valley. We cultivate rapeseed on 200-300 hectares annually. Immediately after harvest, the rapeseed is cleaned on a sieve cleaner and stored in a concrete hall with underfloor ventilation. The temperature must decrease, not increase, to prevent the rapeseed from overheating. Before pressing, the rapeseed undergoes another round of sieving and is packed into big bags. From the big bags, the rapeseed goes through an aerodynamic cleaner. Our advantage in pressing is that we do not need to apply high pressures. Approximately 15% of oil remains in the press cake. These press cakes, the residues after pressing, can be used to produce feed mixtures for turkeys. We do not need to press the rapeseed twice to extract every last drop of oil.

This sets us apart from other cold-pressed oil producers.

After pressing, the oil is left to stand for 3 days to allow any sediment to settle, as it is not completely clear. After sedimentation, the clear oil is drawn off into a homogenization tank. This is a double-jacketed heated vessel with a stirrer, where the oil is heated to 35 degrees Celsius. From there, it is pumped through hoses to wine filters, where it is thoroughly cleaned. The thus purified oil is then filled into consumer packaging.
